Ronnie Dunn is Popping the Charts like a Firecracker with his new album, "We All Bleed Red"

The soulful voice of Ronnie Dunn immediately grabs your attention with his latest release, "We all bleed red"  with lyrics that touch the heart....  "Lets's say we're sorry, before it's too late, give forgiveness a chance.  Turn the anger into water, let it slip through our hands.  We all bleed red, we all taste rain, we all fall down, lose our way, we all say words, we regret, we all cry tears, we all bleed red".

This is Dunn's first album, without his long time side kick, Kix Brooks, but hopefully not his last.  Brooks and Dunn was an amazing team, and their Duo lasted much longer than most marriages do, and I wish the both of them, much success and happiness. Although they are going their separate ways, they remain friends, and that is how it should be.

Life is short, and so much time is wasted between people that love one another, fussing and fighting.  The Bible says, "Don't let the sun go down on your anger", and there is a reason for that.  You never know when it is your last monent, or someone you love's last moment, or when it will be your last chance to tell someone how you feel about them.

I recently lost a good friend, and as I stood by her bedside, while she lay in a coma, I held her hand and said, "I hope you know how much I love you".  I'm sure she did, but had I known, the last time I spoke to her on the phone, it would be my last time to hear her voice, I may have said some things I had been meaning to say.

At the suggestion of a friend, I started keeping a journal, and in that journal were some of the arguments we had in the past.  Things that seemed so important at the time, but when she passed on, were not important at all.   As I watched the pages burn in my Chimmineah, smoke going up to heaven, I realized that our relationship was much bigger than the small arguments we had.

Most arguments are over pride, who is right and who is wrong, but in the end, it does not matter.  Forgive and move on.  I can assure you, when you lose someone dear to you, you will wish you had all that wasted time back.  We won't carry anything with us when we leave this world, but we will leave something behind in the hearts of those who knew and loved us.

No two people will ever see everything alike, and sometimes, like Brooks and Dunn, it is best to go your separate ways, but it does not mean you have to leave in anger, with unforgiveness in your heart.  As the song says, "We all fall down, and lose our way".  We are all the same.  Human.

In his one and only blog post, speaking about his new album,Dunn says, “It’s autobiographical,” There is something in each song that I’ve lived or that I’m living. I’m hoping that you’ll find something to take with you as you listen, as well. We all bleed red, ya know.”   "My sweat and blood runs through every song.  I either wrote or, was involved in writing nine of the twelve songs."

If "We All Bleed Red" is any indication of what the rest of the album is like, I can't wait to hear the rest of it.  To learn more, visit his website at:  http://www.ronniedunn.com/

                WE ALL BLEED RED
Written by: Tommy Lee James, Andrew Dorff

Let’s say were sorry, before it’s too late, give forgiveness a chance
Turn the anger into water; let it slip through our hands
We all bleed red, we all taste rain, all fall down, Lose our way,
We all say words we regret, we all cry tears, we all bleed red

If we’re fighting, we’re both losing; we’re just wasting our time
Because my scars, they are your scars and your world is mine
You and I, we all bleed red, we all taste rain, all fall down, lose our way
We all say words, we regret, well cry tears, we all bleed red
Sometimes we’re strong, sometimes we’re weak, sometimes we’re hurt and it cuts deep
We live this life, breath to breath, we’re all the same; we all bleed red

(Instrumental break)
Let’s say we’re sorry….Before it’s too late….

We all bleed red, all taste rain, all fall down, lose our way,
We all say words we regret, we all cry tears we all bleed red,
Sometimes we’re strong, sometimes we’re weak; sometimes we’re hurt
It cuts deep; we live this life breath to breath; we’re all the same
We all bleed r-e-e-e-d-d-d

  1. Yes, life really is short and we don't if when we're speaking to a friend that it may be the last Time. Too many facades we wear & rob ourselves of living life at such a deeper more meaningful joy-filled level. I love journaling - I've kept them since 1987 and I discovered that: "This too shall pass" is such a true statement for both good and bad. What passes? The fears of the day, worries, concerns, goals of the day, and also what passes are the days of life. We are all more alike then we would like to admit.
